I've never heard of this place, until my friend brought us here to try. I was visiting Houston over the weekend and she brought us here because we were wanting a dessert, and I'm glad she did because it was so good! We got the mango chewy ball and the mango mochi. I really liked the mango chewy ball because there were a variety of things in it that I got to try. The mango was fresh in everything, it was super refreshing! The inside decor was cute, and I loved how they displayed all the desserts so you can see what you would be getting

I've had this on my list of places to try for a while but I finally was in the area, and decided to give it a try! Omg mango heaven! The Mochi was my favorite part, and it added another texture to the dish. It wasn't overly sweet either which I really liked. The service was fast, and they did have a lot of open seating. The mango Mochi ball was so good that I ended up ordering a large to go. On my next visit, I'll be trying the mango with coco!

Needless to say ... I am addicted. If I could eat this everyday I would. I personally order C8 and I usually order 3-4 at a time to have at home and eat throughout the week. (Tip!! If you don't intend on eating it day of do NOT order C8 with the mochi. The mochi gets super hard whenever it's in the fridge... even for a day) The coconut jelly is smooth, perfect amount of sweetness, and refreshing. The jelly is accompanied by mochi balls, mango, and what seems to be crystal boba. In my opinion this is the perfect dessert. The staff here is friendly, knowledgeable, and quick. I've never had to wait longer than 10 minutes to receive my order . HOWEVER... they are always packed. I wouldn't recommend coming here to study etc. it is always jammed packed with a lively crowd. Ive always had their fresh mango mochi and it is also to die for! Regardless. If you like mango. Come. If you like desserts that aren't overly sweet. Come.

If you're a fan of mangoes, you're gonna love this place. I ordered the Mango Chewy Ball. The puréed mangoes in it are so flavorful and sweet, while the mochi balls were super chewy and fresh. Definitely buy a box of Mango Mochi while you're here. These might be even better than the actual mango desserts. These are also super chewy and have a chunk of mango right in the middle and are covered in coconut shavings. YUM. I will say that I found the Mango Yogurt drink to be underwhelming; the mango flavor wasn't as vibrant as the flavor of the Mango Chewy Ball. Atmosphere-wise, there are a lot of seats but because this place is so popular, you may have some trouble finding one.

I came here a couple times and they've been great all the times I've been. I went during mango season and also not in mango season and I can definitely tell the difference, though it is still great off season. My favorite is the mango chewy ball, I also tries the mango trio as well which is good and the mango mochi. I think the drinks are pretty good but overpriced. Lastly, I thought the mango pancake was not worth the hype. The service was fast and it was really crowded the first time I went when it just opened but now I am able to find seats pretty easily (it still has a lot of people though). The inside is pretty clean, sometimes the tables are sticky because you clean them yourself.

I've been eager to visit Hui Lau Shan for their mango desserts and drinks. The fast-casual mango dessert shop appears to be everywhere, and I finally stumbled into their Houston location. The majority of menu items are tempting, and the service time is impressive given the consistently large crowds. I ordered their popular and incredibly tasty pomelo and mango drink, with pureed mango, fresh mango, coconut milk, pomelo fruit, and tapioca-like sago pearls. Extremely good. I look forward to returning for their other items, including their mango mochi, mango pancake and mango chewy ball, with a scoop of mango ice cream.

Hui lau Shan is one of my favorite spots for dessert!!! Every time I go, I have to get these two items: pomelo & mango with sago + taro black glutinous rice (cold). Never just one or the other, have to have both lol & that's because they balance each other out so well! The taro black glutinous rice has mochi balls that are super chewy and pieces of taro throughout, which are smooth, soft, and sometimes served warm!! The pomelo & mango with sago is so refreshing, and the mango pieces are always sweet. The mango ice cream really is the cherry on top. I usually alternate between the two desserts, and it smacks so hard. This place can get SO BUSY on the weekends, like I mean line backed up all the way to the door. And don't even get me started about parking... the plaza is always popping, so be prepared to park far or circle around for an eternity trying to cop a spot. I had to wait quite a while for my order to come out, and I was just patiently waiting by the trash can because there was like no room to stand or sit. The desserts made up for it in the end, and all was well. The employees are always kind and hard working!
